MATCH Needs MCAS Tutors! Work-Study or Volunteer!
Program Summary
Our nationally-recognized weekend tutoring program is currently seeking tutors for our 10th graders taking the state MCAS tests in the spring. We need individual tutors to work one-on-one or one-on-two for our 10th graders preparing them for their state tests in math and English (algebra, geometry, and probability; writing 5-paragraph essays and reading comprehension). We can use your help if you can provide at least 4 hours a week as a work-study funded undergraduate student OR as a volunteer.
Our Immediate Need
- The times we need tutors are 1:00-5:30 on Fridays; 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturdays; or 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sundays. You must pick one of these slots, and you may pick two or all three.
- We have 27 weekends scheduled for the tutoring program, for a total of 100 hours beginning September, 2007. Training, weekly curriculum and supervision are provided.
- You will be working with the same student during the entire school year. You must be good with kids and have the ability to tutor 10th grade level English and math topics.
Undergrads with work study: returning tutors have top priority; seniors and juniors have next priority. If you can commit to four hours on one of these days, have the ability to tutor 10th grade level English and math topics, and can be truly dedicated to our students' success, please email us at christie.paul@matchschool.org to receive an application and to schedule an interview.
We are also looking for AP and SAT tutors. For more information, click here.
