Volunteering

If you are interested in volunteering at the MATCH School, please contact Christie Paul. The MATCH School is always in need of extra support to help our students achieve our mission of college success and beyond. In particular, we are seeking tutors for AP and SAT support.

AP Calculus, AP Biology, and AP Physics Tutors Needed!

Program Summary

The MATCH School is seeking well-qualified tutors to help struggling students in AP Calculus, AP Biology, and AP Physics. As a part of our AP-for-All Initiative, all MATCH juniors and seniors take at least one AP course each year, and there are students in each class who need extra help. The AP tutoring supplements their classroom work and helps the students prepare for the AP exams in May. We are looking for tutors who can provide at least two hours a week as a work-study funded undergraduate/graduate student OR as a volunteer.

Details

  • The tutoring sessions can be structured around your availability! We are ideally looking for tutors to provide help after school from 4 - 7:15 pm Monday through Thursday, Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings; however, we can be flexible if these times don't work for you.
  • Tutors only need to commit to one tutoring session per week of at least two hours. If you are available for more than one session, that is great as well.
  • Tutors will work one-on-one with a student who needs help in very rigorous college-level classes, and the tutoring sessions will be with the same student every week.
  • Please contact Christie Paul for an application and to schedule an interview.

SAT Math Tutors Needed!

Program Summary

The MATCH School is seeking well-qualified tutors to help juniors prepare for their SAT math test in June. We have 14 students who want extra math help in order to boost their scores over 600, a level that will open admissions and scholarship doors for them; in practice exams, they are scoring between 500 and 550.

The tutoring sessions will be one on one, or at most one tutor with 3 students. We are looking for help from January through May, preferably on any of the following schedules:
  1. Monday and Thursday evenings (Mondays 5:45-7:15 pm and Thursdays 5:15-6:45)
  2. Saturdays 9:30-12:30 or 10-1
  3. Sundays 9:30-12:30
We can be flexible if these times don't work for you. Tutoring materials will be provided. Please contact Christie Paul for an application and to schedule an interview.
