Tommy Day | Director of Operations
Mr. Day grew up in Needham, Massachusetts and graduated from Williams College with a BA in Economics in 2007. After college, he worked as a management consultant and moved to Boston proper, where he has lived the majority of his time since. He eventually became interested in education after struggling to help a loved one find high quality high school options in his adopted Dorchester neighborhood. While completing his MBA from the Yale School of Management he made a deliberate career shift to work in education and is very excited to be able to serve students and families in Boston with Match.
Alexis Lambert | Academic Resources Teacher
Mrs. Lambert lived in sunny San Diego, CA before moving to Massachusetts to receive her BA in psychology, which she completed in 2012. She is currently pursuing her masters degree in Moderate Special Needs Education and began her experience in special education while living in Lithuania. Previous to Match, Mrs. Lambert worked as a paraprofessional in a public middle school and as a severe special needs teacher for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. While not teaching, Mrs. Lambert loves traveling the world and completing crossword puzzles!
SHAWN LANE I BEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONIST
EMMANUEL SANTANA I ASSOCIATE DEAN OF STUDENTS
Mr. Santana was born and raised in Boston. He attended Denison University in Ohio for 4 years. While in College, he worked as a camp counselor and activity director at the Crossraods site Camp Mitton. After graduating with a degree in Education, he started off his career at Match as a part of Match Corps 12 and is now an Associate Dean of Students.
Ray Schleck | Principal
Mr. Schleck graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Philosophy and Political Science. After a year teaching English in China, he joined Match High School as a member of Match Corps 5 and graduated from the Match Teacher Residency. Most recently he taught History at Boston Collegiate Charter School. This year he is developing Match's newest school design called Match Next, which incorporates blended learning and new human capital configurations. His work includes research and testing of education technology, school design, recruitment and hiring, and curriculum development.
Sara schnitzer | 5th Grade Math Director
Ms. Schnitzer grew up in Concord, Massachusetts and graduated from Dartmouth College in 2005 with a degree in geography. She taught 6th grade math and science through Teach For America in New Orleans, and also taught 5th and 6th grade math in Boston at the Brooke Charter School. Ms. Schnitzer has a Master's in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. She has also worked for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and for Teach For America's Teacher Support and Development team. When not at school, Ms. Schnitzer loves cooking vegetarian food and taking walks around Jamaica Plain. She is thrilled to join the Match Next team and to work with our wonderful 5th grade students.
Kathleen Stern | 5th Grade ELA Director
Mrs. Stern comes to Match Next after spending the last five years at Boston Collegiate Charter School (BCCS), where she was the 7th grade reading teacher, English Department co-chair and grade level leader. Prior to BCCS, she taught 10th grade English in New Haven, Connecticut, fundraised for Teach For America (TFA) during the recession in 2008, and as part of TFA’s HR team, created performance review and feedback tools for its staff members. She received her B.A. (International Studies) from Trinity College and her M.A.T from Simmons College. When she’s not in school, she loves being outside, reading, running and watching her unbiasedly adorable daughter, Addie, explore the world. Mrs. Stern is thrilled to join the Match team and family!
Ms. Wallingford grew up in Cedar Falls, IA, before moving to Connecticut for college. She graduated from Trinity College with a major in English Literature and a minor in Religion after work with the theater and Admissions departments. After graduation, she moved to Boston to serve as a Corps member at Match Next. While she loved working with her students, she also loved her secondary duty as an administrative assistant and grew more interested in school operations. Because of her amazing experiences with the Match Next staff and operations team, she is delighted to return this year as the Community Manager. Outside school, Ms. Wallingford enjoys baking, reading, and spending time outdoors around JP. She is already enjoying her work with the awesome members of Match Corps XIII!
