FAFSA Completion Is a Strong Predictor of College Attendance. Here’s How Schools Can Help.

Match High School’s Director of College & Career Counseling, Tyrone Brown wrote an op-ed for Ed Post about the school’s efforts to help students and families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which determines their eligibility for need-based federal aid for college. Completion of the FAFSA is a strong predictor of whether a student will attend college; seniors who complete the application are 84% more likely to attend a postsecondary institution immediately after high school.
