Match Middle School Team



Mrs. Adrien was born in Boston and raised in the suburbs outside of Boston. She received her bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree from MCPHS University in Boston MA. She has experience in family medicine, pediatric/adolescent health, and mental health. In her free time she loves to listen to music, go walking, and spend time with her family.


Dominique Bastien | Social Worker

Ms. Bastien grew up in Somerville, Massachusetts and graduated from Regis College with a BA in Psychology in 2009. She then went on to receive her Masters in Social Work in 2013 from Wheelock College.  While in her graduate program, Ms. Bastien’s passion for working with children and young adults grew.  Prior to coming to Match, she worked as a school-based clinician for a non-profit organization, and this is how she became involved with Match.  Ms.  Bastien also worked as a mobile crisis clinician, which made her desire to work with children with social and emotional disabilities in the school system flourish.  She is very excited to be a part of Match and is looking forward to working with the students, families, and staff in the Match community.

Kaitlin Beaudoin | 7th Grade History Teacher

Ms. Beaudoin is the 7th grade Ancient History teacher at Match Middle School. Ms. Beaudoin is originally from southern New Hampshire and graduated from Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts where she received her B.A. in History and Spanish. She traveled to Texas to fulfill a placement with Teach for America and completed her Masters of Education at Southern Methodist University.

Jillian Boucher | 6th Grade Math Teacher

Ms. Boucher is originally from East Providence, RI. She graduated from Wheaton College in 2011 with a degree in mathematics, and earned her M.S.Ed in urban education from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013. Ms. Boucher spent two years teaching high school math in Camden, New Jersey as a Teach for America corps member, and is thrilled to be back living in New England, closer to her friends and family! When Ms. Boucher isn't solving math problems, she loves to play basketball and volleyball, read, and bake.

dacie BOyce | academic resources teacher

Ms. Boyce was born in Boston, Massachusetts and completed her elementary and middle school years in the BPS system. She attended Wellesley College for her Bachelor's degree in History. She taught 5th grade Special Education in Chelsea, MA as her Teach for America Placement. She earned her Master's Degree from Boston University in Teaching and Curriculum.

Michael Buccarelli | Academic Resources Teacher

Mr. Buccarelli is originally from Long Island, NY. He went to Rivier University and pursued a BA in Human Development, earning certifications in teaching for Elementary Education K-8 and General Special Education K-12. He has taught English/Social and vocational skills Studies at the Middle School and High School levels. He taught for 2 years in the Czech Republic after earning his TEFL certification. He truly likes to help others and that is why he became a teacher. He played NCAA Men’s Volleyball during undergrad, and in 2006 his team made it to the Final Four Tournament. He then went on to pursue a professional beach volleyball career, playing in several tournaments. He plans to start a men’s team this fall with some old teammates and play locally!

siri Carr | 8th Grade ENGLISH Teacher

Ms. Carr is originally from Connecticut and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University where she studied literature and Spanish. She spent the last year as an English tutor in Match Corps XII at Match Middle and is completing her masters degree through the Charles Sposato Graduate School of Education. She is super excited to continue working with these awesome students as one of the 8th grade English teachers!

Nicholas cHURCHILL | 6TH GRADE director of curriculum & instruction, literature


Mr. Churchill is excited to join the Match Middle School team as Director of Writing and Director of Special Education. He began his career in education through TFA as an English and Reading teacher on the Navajo Nation in rural New Mexico. After that, he served as a founding ELA teacher at UP Academy Boston, as an Academic Dean at Achievement First in New Haven, and most recently as the ELA director of Match's Teacher Launch Project. Mr. Churchill earned a B.A. from UCLA and an Ed. M. from Harvard. He is a proud Chicagoan and watches the Bulls religiously in his free time.

Ms. Cook is originally from Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from the University of Michigan. Ms. Cook started working at Match Middle School last year as an English Tutor, and she is continuing this year as the 6th grade science teacher. Ms. Cook is currently working on completing her masters through the Charles Sposato Graduate School of Education. In her free time, Ms. Cook enjoys spending time outdoors and cheering for her favorite Cleveland sports teams. She is extremely excited to work with the awesome 6th graders and have a great year of science!


Ms. Davis was born and raised in Los Angeles CA. She graduated from Tufts University in 2008 with a B.A. in English. She began her time at Match Middle School as a member of Match Corps 5 and is a graduate of the Match Teacher Residency Program.


Kinzena davis | 8th grade math teacher

Mrs. Davis is a Boston native, particularly the Mattapan and Dorchester areas. Mrs. Davis is a graduate of the MATCH High school class of 2007. She went to Centre College on the Posse Scholarship and graduated in 2010. She earned her master’s degree from Cambridge College in 2013. She has been working with students in some capacity for 7 years and is excited to be back at MATCH as a teacher.

Tommy Day | Director of Operations

Mr. Day grew up in Needham, Massachusetts and graduated from Williams College with a BA in Economics in 2007.  After college, he worked as a management consultant and moved to Boston proper, where he has lived the majority of his time since.  He eventually became interested in education after struggling to help a loved one find high quality high school options in his adopted Dorchester neighborhood. While completing his MBA from the Yale School of Management he made a deliberate career shift to work in education and is very excited to be able to serve students and families in Boston with Match.

Tony DelaRosa | 7th Grade ELA Teacher

Mr. DelaRosa was born and raised in San Diego, CA.  He attended undergrad at the University of Cincinnati studying Professional & Creative writing, and Japanese Linguistics and recieved his Masters in Teaching at Marian University in Indy.  He spent three years teaching as a Teach For America 2012 Corps Member in Indianapolis. There he was fortunate to start a non-profit that brings spoken word/slam poetry to middle and high schools called "Indy Pulse."  Aside from the four walls of his classroom, you can find Mr. DelaRosa roaming the city performing spoken word poetry, or cooking something that involves Sriracha. Mabuhay! (Cheers / Long live in Filipino).


Ms. DePina grew up in Boston, Massachusetts and graduated from Amherst College with a BA in Psychology and Spanish in 2011. She then went on to receive her Masters in Social Work at Boston College. While earning her master's degree, Ms. DePina gained clinical experience providing case management and crisis intervention to homeless youth in the city of Boston, and then moved on to work with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors in a hospital setting, providing psychoeducation, emotional support and counseling services. Following graduate school, she worked as a school-based clinician for a non-profit organization for two years. Ms. DePina has become especially passionate about working with youths and looks forward to bringing this passion to Match. She also enjoys learning about new cultures as well as utilizing her fluency in Spanish and Cape Verdean Creole in her work.


Born and raised in Boston, MA, Ms. Elentukh earned her undergraduate degree from Boston University and her graduate degree from Simmons College. She began her teaching career in Chelsea, MA in 2010 and has since worked in Brookline, Newton, and Boston schools. In her free time, Ms. Elentukh directs a professional dance company and coaches dance teams in the area. What excites her most about teaching middle school is helping her students realize their own potential for greatness and encouraging them to reach for their goals and dreams.


Mr. Fabbri is originally from the quaint town of Chesterton, Indiana. He graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a degree in English. After graduating, he honed his teaching and corny joke making skills in Memphis, where he taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English and science for two years as a Teach for America corps member. Mr. Fabbri is already enjoying the New England life and in his free time likes to read, cook elaborate meals, and invest way too much energy watching his favorite sports teams. He is very excited to bring his love for reading and composition to the wonderful 6th graders at Match


JESSICA GOLDBERG | Academic resources Teacher

Ms. Goldberg was born and raised in Boston. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Education Studies from Skidmore College. She also holds a Master’s degree in Education from Lesley University’s reading specialist program. Ms. Goldberg taught 6th grade English at Roxbury Prep Charter School for six years. In her spare time, she loves to read, cook, and spend time with friends and family. She is excited to join the Match community.

Cherisse Hagood | Student Affairs Manager

Ms. Hagood lived in Boston all her life until she traveled to Rollins College in Florida where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and studied dance.  Immediately after graduating, she returned home to serve as a March Corps tutor.  In her first year at Match, she fell in love the students and the school environment, so she was thrilled to come on board as the Front Office Manager last year so she can continue to develop wonderful relationships with the Match community. Ms. Hagood enjoys dancing, trying to sing, going for walks, and reading. She looks forward to starting a new year of meeting new students, families, and staff and also welcoming back the wonderful people she’s already met.


Lisa Katerman | Counselor

Originally from Pennsylvania, Ms. Katerman went to college in North Carolina, spent a year teaching in Costa Rica, and spent 5 years in Washington, D.C. working at a non-profit and getting her Masters in Social Work. She moved to Boston two years ago for a post-MSW fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital, and she is still working for them as a school social worker in their Children's Hospital Neighborhood Partnership program. Ms. Katerman does a variety of things related to mental health and social-emotional well-being, including individual and group therapy, classroom interventions, crisis work, and staff trainings. She is thrilled to work with Match students, families, and staff!

haena Lee | 8th grade ENGLISH teacher

Ms. Lee name is originally from Bethesda, MD, a suburb right outside of DC. She joined Match as a member of last year's corps, Match Corps XI, came back for a second year to work and study as a Match Teacher in Residency (MTR) before becoming an 8th grade teacher in January.  Before Match, Ms. Lee went to Williams College where she double majored in English and Sociology. Though she wasn't really sure what she wanted to do after graduating, Ms. Lee knew she was really interested in working with kids from the summer experiences she had working with elementary school to high school kids. After a year of tutoring, she became more interested in teaching and decided to stay and do MTR. Other than working with kids, Ms. Lee loves to read, play ice hockey, and eat!


Mr. Moore was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri, where he attended college at Drury University. While at Drury he studied English and Religion. He is currently enrolled in the Charles Sposato Graduate School of Education and hopes to obtain his masters degree next summer.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing and watching soccer, basketball, and football. He is also an avid runner who competes in marathons and is dabbling in ultra-running. What excites him most about teaching history is the opportunity to connect students to the world and empower them to make changes in it.



Ms. Mulvehill was born in Needham, MA and attended The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA with a B.A. in political science and concentration in Latin American studies. She went on to teach 9th grade world history as a TFA corp member in Washington, DC while getting her Masters of Education from American University.  She has been coaching and managing first and second year teaching fellows with a Boston-based non-profit for the past four years in three different Boston Public Schools and is excited to get back into the classroom! Ms. Mulvehill is also a proud band-wagon Boston sports fan!


Mr. Nyantakyi was raised in the Bronx, New York. He received a Bachelor's of Science in Biology from Morgan State University. After finished his studies in Maryland, he decided to come to Boston where he became a Match Corps member at Match Community Day. After finishing his Corps year, he decided to stay in Boston and work at Match Middle School. In his spare time Charles enjoys reading, listening to music, watching sports, and binge watching his favorite shows on Hulu and Netflix.  




Ms. O'Neal was born and raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She received a B.S. in Human Development and Psychological Services from Northwestern University. After graduating she moved to Boston to  begin her career in education  as a Match Corps tutor and a member of the Match Teacher Residency. She taught 7th grade math at Roxbury Prep for several years and is excited to be back at Match.

Ugo Ojimba | Athletics Director

Mr. Ojimba is a Boston native who has coached both basketball and football as a volunteer at many levels from high school to the neighborhood summer leagues. He played competitive basketball at Hesser College, where he received his Associates in Criminal Justice.  He also spent 10 years in the Marine Corps reserve where he deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and was a certified instructor in hand to hand combat and a multitude of other disciplines. Mr. Ojimba really enjoys reading and all types of sports. He’s played most sports and will watch any that come on, but reading is his first love.



Ms. Oppenheim is originally from Virginia. She came up to Boston to attend Tufts University. After earning her bachelor's degree in Cognitive and Brain Sciences, Ms. Oppenheim began Match Teacher Residency and tutoring at Match Middle School. She then became the 7th grade science teacher at the middle school. Ms. Oppenheim is very excited to continue to work with the incredible Match community of students, staff, and tutors. When not at school, Ms. Oppenheim loves to run, hike, and read.



Ms. Pasley is originally from the Dorchester-lower Mills area of Boston.  She lived in various places while serving as a satellite communications engineer in the United States Marine Corps.  After her time in the Marine Corps, she returned to Boston and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Behavior at Simmons College. Before joining the Match community, Ms. Pasley coordinated the behavior department at a collaborative school in the South Shore.  In her free time Ms. Pasley enjoys cooking, time on the beach and watching any of the New England sports teams play.



Mr. Rosales is originally from Virginia Beach, VA and graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolutions. He landed here in Boston through serving a year with City Year and since then has no plans on leaving the city. He is excited for this new opportunity to educate, grow, and learn.


Ms. Savarese has lived in Boston since attending Tufts University. Initially interested in international relations, she worked in banking, consulting, and economics before realizing her passion to become a teacher. She earned her M.Ed. at Lesley University, while raising a family, and spent the last four years teaching math at a Boston charter school. Most recently, she was the school's Literacy Coordinator. She loves reading, hiking, hot yoga, the beach, and spending time with friends and family.


Ms. Siegel received her B.A. in Psychology from Franklin and Marshall College and M.S. in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University. Prior to working for Match, Ms. Siegel worked with pediatrics in multiple charter schools, preschools, homes, and clinical/rehabilitative settings all over New York City. Ms. Siegel has experience evaluating and treating children with delays or disorders in the following areas: expressive and receptive language, auditory processing, articulation and phonology, fluency, social-pragmatic language, voice/resonance, and literacy development. Ms. Siegel is excited to join the Match team as the speech-language pathologist for Match Middle School, Match Next, and Match High School.

Emma Simon | 6th Grade English Teacher

Ms. Simon first came to Match Middle School as a Match Corps Tutor and Teacher Resident. Ms. Simon grew up on the south shore of Long Island, NY or, as she puts it, 40 minutes from the city, 15 minutes from the beach. She earned her bachelor's degree in Creative Writing and Theatre Arts from SUNY New Paltz in 2009, and her Master's in English Education from The City College of New York in 2011. After that, she worked for several years in the New York City public schools before finally making the move up to Boston. Ms. Simon is thrilled to work with sixth graders and welcomes questions regarding student progress as well as any book/Netflix recommendations.


Ms. Stein was born in Boston and raised in the suburbs outside of New York City. She received her bachelor's degree from Boston University and her master's degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Ms. Stein previously worked as an MCAS tutor for MATCH High School and a science coach for the MATCH Teacher Residency. In her spare time, Ms. Stein loves to cook, ski, and read mystery novels.


Mr. Strumfels was born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. He graduated from Lehigh University in 2012 with a BA in English Literature and was a graduate of the South Mountain College Honors Program. After leaving Lehigh, he spent time teaching English in Seoul, South Korea and tutoring the SAT and ACT in Bethesda, Maryland before joining Match Corps XII as a literacy tutor for Match Next.


Mr. Turco graduated from Fairfield University and began his life in the classroom as a Fulbright English teacher in Germany. After he returned, he taught special education at Community School 211 in the Bronx, NY as a Teach for America Corps member. While teaching in New York, he received his master's degree from Hunter College in special education. Before coming to Match in 2013, Mr. Turco was a learning specialist at KIPP Academy Middle School. Mr. Turco and his wife welcomed their first child, Leila, in July 2013.


Mr. White grew up in eastern North Carolina and graduated with a BS in Applied Mathematics and a BS in Chemistry in 2011.  After college, Mr. White joined Teach for America in Connecticut and taught 9th grade math in Bridgeport for 3 years while also leading his school's robotics team.  Before joining the Match Next team, he got his Master of Education with a concentration in educational technology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
