Brenellys Acevedo | Front OFFICE Manager
MELISSA ADRIEN | NURSE
Mrs. Adrien was born in Boston and raised in the suburbs outside of Boston. She received her bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree from MCPHS University in Boston MA. She has experience in family medicine, pediatric/adolescent health, and mental health. In her free time she loves to listen to music, go walking, and spend time with her family.
Joao Amado I Associate Teacher
Mr. Amado was born in the small West African island nation of Cape Verde. He came to the United States at the age of ten and lived in Bridgeport Connecticut for four years. In 1989, Mr. Amado moved to Dorchester, MA., and graduated from Boston High School. He got a degree in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He always had a passion for teaching because he sees it as the cornerstone of a modern society. Mr. Amado enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He loves to ready historical books, and watching a good soccer match with his friends.
Dominique Bastien | Social Worker
Ms. Bastien grew up in Somerville, Massachusetts and graduated from Regis College with a BA in Psychology in 2009. She then went on to receive her Masters in Social Work in 2013 from Wheelock College. While in her graduate program, Ms. Bastien’s passion for working with children and young adults grew. Prior to coming to Match, she worked as a school-based clinician for a non-profit organization, and this is how she became involved with Match. Ms. Bastien also worked as a mobile crisis clinician, which made her desire to work with children with social and emotional disabilities in the school system flourish. She is very excited to be a part of Match and is looking forward to working with the students, families, and staff in the Match community.
Jillian Boucher | Match Corps Director
Ms. Boucher is originally from East Providence, RI. She graduated from Wheaton College in 2011 with a degree in mathematics, and earned her M.S.Ed in urban education from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013. Ms. Boucher spent two years teaching high school math in Camden, New Jersey as a Teach for America corps member, and is thrilled to be back living in New England, closer to her friends and family! When Ms. Boucher isn't solving math problems, she loves to play basketball and volleyball, read, and bake.
dacie BOyce | Special Education teacher
Ms. Boyce was born in Boston, Massachusetts and completed her elementary and middle school years in the BPS system. She attended Wellesley College for her Bachelor's degree in History. She taught 5th grade Special Education in Chelsea, MA as her Teach for America Placement. She earned her Master's Degree from Boston University in Teaching and Curriculum.
Jawad Brown | 8th grade Math Teacher
Mr. Brown has been working in urban education for 10 years. He began his career as a Student Teacher at Belle Vue Middle School, located in Tallahassee, Florida in 2008. He went on to become an Intern Teacher at The Epiphany School, an independent charter school located in Dorchester. He then spent 6 years at Boston Collegiate Charter School as a 7th and 8th grade math teacher, basketball coach and enrichment advisor. He has also worked for Charles Sposato Graduate School of Education as Director of Math Training, Classroom Culture and Director of the Residents of Color Mentoring Program. Mr. Brown holds a B.A. in Secondary Education in Mathematics from Florida A&M University and a Master of Science degree in Education from Simmons College.
Margaret Callaghan I 7th Grade ELA Teacher
Ms. Callaghan grew up in Baltimore, Maryland (Go Ravens!) and moved to Columbus, Ohio (O-H!) for high school. She studied Global Politics and Diplomacy as well as Journalism at Miami University of Ohio. She decided to teach because she wanted work to close the gap of education inequality in this country. She is looking forward to working with all the wonderful students and the incredible teachers at Match! She loves running, reading, finding funky new restaurants and spending time with friends and family.
Brenna Carlson | 6th Grade history Teacher
Ms. Carlson is from Ames, Iowa (which is the state with corn, not potatoes). She went to the University of Notre Dame. She majored in History and Japanese and spent 7 months studying abroad in Japan. Ms. Carlson knew that she wanted to teach in a public school classroom while she was teaching English in Japan. She had great experiences with her students and wanted to become a better teacher when she came home to the states. She is looking forward to helping students learn how exciting history is. Ms. Carlson loves cooking, reading, and hanging out with her cat. She also likes to workout and can be found doing yoga or push-ups at the gym (depending on the day).
siri Carr | 8th Grade Ela Teacher
Ms. Carr is originally from Connecticut and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University where she studied literature and Spanish. She spent the last year as an English tutor in Match Corps XII at Match Middle and is completing her masters degree through the Charles Sposato Graduate School of Education. She is super excited to continue working with these awesome students as one of the 8th grade English teachers!
Jennifer Carver I Special Education Teacher
Ms. Carver is originally from Washington state and grew up just north of Seattle. She attended Seattle University where she received a dual degree in Public Affairs and Business Administration. She also completed her Masters in Middle/Secondary Education at UMass Boston. Ms. Carver started working in education as an AmeriCorps member with Citizen Schools. She quickly realized how much she loved teaching and seeing students' curiosity and maturity grow over the course of a year. She is most excited to meet her new students at Match, get to know them, and help them grow as learners and individuals.In her free time, Ms. Carver loves to knit (and she'll gladly teach you how!). She also enjoys cooking, doing puzzles, listening to podcasts, and hiking/being outdoors.
Joanna Davis | ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Ms. Davis was born and raised in Los Angeles CA. She graduated from Tufts University in 2008 with a B.A. in English. She began her time at Match Middle School as a member of Match Corps 5 and is a graduate of the Match Teacher Residency Program.
Tommy Day | Director of Operations
Mr. Day grew up in Needham, Massachusetts and graduated from Williams College with a BA in Economics in 2007. After college, he worked as a management consultant and moved to Boston proper, where he has lived the majority of his time since. He eventually became interested in education after struggling to help a loved one find high quality high school options in his adopted Dorchester neighborhood. While completing his MBA from the Yale School of Management he made a deliberate career shift to work in education and is very excited to be able to serve students and families in Boston with Match.
Paloma Dugan | G6 Composition Teacher
Ms. Dugan grew up in the state of Connecticut, where she has lived in several small towns. In college, she studied elementary education and religion with a focus in ethics. She decided to work in education so she could help create future activists and social changers. She believes that working with youth is one of the most powerful ways to affect the future of our country and the world. In her free time, she enjoys reading, biking, running, swimming, hiking, thoughtful conversations. Ms. Dugan is a recently returned Peace Corps volunteer who taught English to out of school youth in the Philippines. She also organized gender and environment camps

Mrs. Forbes was born in Jamaica but grew up in Boston. She attended Regis College where she studied Public Health. This school year she looks forward to getting to know everyone. In her free time she likes to travel and listen to music. Prior to Match, she worked at an assisted living facility.
Lucille Germain | 8th Grade Ela Teacher
Ms. Germain is a Boston native. She graduated from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts with a double major in English and Secondary Education. She is excited to continue her work with the students and staff at Match.
JESSICA GOLDBERG | English learner Specialist
Ms. Goldberg was born and raised in Boston. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Education Studies from Skidmore College. She also holds a Master’s degree in Education from Lesley University’s reading specialist program. Ms. Goldberg taught 6th grade English at Roxbury Prep Charter School for six years. In her spare time, she loves to read, cook, and spend time with friends and family. She is excited to join the Match community.
Dana Gottlieb | Speech Pathologist
Mrs. Gottlieb received her B.A. in Psychology from Franklin and Marshall College and M.S. in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University. Prior to working for Match, Mrs. Gottlieb worked with pediatrics in multiple charter schools, preschools, homes, and clinical/rehabilitative settings all over New York City. Mrs. Gottlieb has experience evaluating and treating children with delays or disorders in the following areas: expressive and receptive language, auditory processing, articulation and phonology, fluency, social-pragmatic language, voice/resonance, and literacy development.
Cherisse Hagood | Operations Manager
Ms. Hagood lived in Boston all her life until she traveled to Rollins College in Florida where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and studied dance. Immediately after graduating, she returned home to serve as a March Corps tutor. In her first year at Match, she fell in love the students and the school environment, so she was thrilled to come on board as the Front Office Manager last year so she can continue to develop wonderful relationships with the Match community. Ms. Hagood enjoys dancing, trying to sing, going for walks, and reading. She looks forward to starting a new year of meeting new students, families, and staff and also welcoming back the wonderful people she’s already met.
Carissa Hatcher | Physical Education Teacher
Ms. Hatcher grew up in Mount Vernon, Ohio. She attended Bridgewater State University where she earned her degree in Physical Education. She has always used her ability to play sports to build relationships with adults and children. Before coming to Match, she was the Physical Education teacher at the Compass School. She built their physical education and health program, as well as their summer outdoor education program. She is most excited about getting to know the entire Match community, from staff to students. She loves sports, being outdoors and being with friends and family.
Sarah Haughney | Special Education Teacher
Ms. Haughney grew up in Ridgefield, CT and lived there all her life. She attended Providence College in Rhode Island and graduated in 2008 with a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education. Ms. Haughney has always loved teaching and is excited to be joining the Match team! She is looking forward to learning from her new colleagues and students. Prior to Match, she taught at the New England Center for Children for 5 years, working with children with autism. She learned so much in her time at NECC and is looking forward to applying those skills at Match. In her free time, Ms. Haughney enjoys cooking and traveling. She's been to 13 countries so far and hopes to visit as many more as she can.

Ms. Husbands is from the Caribbean, specifically the beautiful islands of Barbados and Grenada. She grew up in the island of Barbados. During her high school career, she immigrated to the U.S and completed her studies at the John D.O'bryant School of Mathematics and Science. She then went on to attend American International College where she received both her bachelor’s and master’s degree.

Mr. Killian was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Furman University with a degree in B.S. in Chemistry, and from Boston University with a Master's degree in Curriculum and Teaching. He loves working with bright young students and helping them foster their passion and potential to be great. Mr. Killian enjoy cooking, reading, traveling, and playing golf. He has been working in urban education for five years.
Kimberly Lake | Director of Special Education
Ms. Lake grew up in North Providence, RI. She graduated from St. Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont with a master's degree in Elementary Education and Psychology, and earned her M.Ed from Columbia University in New York City. Ms. Lake has been working in the field of education for 15 years. She taught for 9 years before moving into the role of special education administrator which she has held for the past six years. In her free time, Ms. Lake enjoys spending time at the beach, reading and playing board games with family and friends.
Shawn Lane | Special Education Teacher
Mr. Lane was born in Massachusetts. He has a Master's degree in Special Education from Brooklyn College. He loves making strong connections and helping kids see their potential.
Julie Mack I Inclusion Aide
Ms. Mack grew up in Needham, Massachusetts. She attended Quinnipiac University and received her BA in Sociology and her Masters in Elementary Education. This school year, she is looking forward to supporting the students. In her spare time, Ms. Mack enjoys walking/playing with her dog. Prior to Match, Ms. Mack worked for Arlington Public Schools.
Alexandria Medellin | 7th Grade Science Teacher
Ms. Medellin was born and raised in the wonderful city of San Antonio, Texas. She attended Hamilton College where she majored in Women's and Gender Studies with a focus on cultural competence in teaching. She decided to become a teacher after realizing the profound influence that quality education had on the trajectory of her life. She is excited to be surrounded by a team working toward helping kids realize their fullest potentials. Prior to Match, she worked on operations and logistics for a teacher preparation program in Houston, TX. In her free time, she enjoys painting, reading legislation and playing with her dogs.
Vanessa Medor | 6th Grade Math Teacher
Ms. Medor was born and raised in Boston and has spent the majority of her life here. She attended Boston College, where she studied both Sociology and Psychology. She became an educator out of passion and from a reflection on the importance and significance of education in her life. Ms. Medor is excited to work at Match because she will be working alongside teachers and administrators who are also fired up by this same passion. But most importantly, she is excited to teach and learn from students who attend school within the same school system that she did. In her free time, Ms. Medor loves to dance! She is also a "foodie" and has been bitten by the travel bug, so she loves opportunities that combine experiences of culture and food.
Yuval Minz I Inclusion Aide
Ms. Minz was born and raised in Israel. She moved to Boston in 2017. She holds a have a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Bar-Ilan University in Israel. She is looking forward to making kids feel capable, and that they can be anything they want to be! In her free time she enjoys, painting and drawing, cooking, and doing Yoga. Prior to Match, she has had a lot of experience working with adults with disability and with youths.
Desiree Mitchell I 7th Grade Composition Teacher
Ms. Mitchell grew up in Oklahoma. She attended Rogers State University for undergrad. She has a Master's in Education from Boston University and a JD from Northeastern University. Ms. Mitchell knows that that education is the key to achieving your goals and giving yourself options in life. She had many people who helped her in her educational journey, and she enjoys paying that forward by helping her students reach their goals. She loves to travel, read, write, swim, cook, and play with my two adorable cats. She also spend a lot of time watching movies and listening to music and podcasts.
JARED MOORE | 8TH GRADE HISTORY TEACHER
Mr. Moore was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri, where he attended college at Drury University. While at Drury he studied English and Religion. He is currently enrolled in the Charles Sposato Graduate School of Education and hopes to obtain his masters degree next summer. In his spare time, he enjoys playing and watching soccer, basketball, and football. He is also an avid runner who competes in marathons and is dabbling in ultra-running. What excites him most about teaching history is the opportunity to connect students to the world and empower them to make changes in it.
Jaumal Moore | Dean of Students
Mr. Moore is a Boston native. He graduated from English High School in Jamaica Plain. Mr. Moore moved on to study Early Childhood education at Massbay Community College. He has worked in special education for over 10 years. Mr. Moore previously worked at a collaborative school where he was in charge of behavior management and transitional support. Mr. Moore is passionate about helping people be their best selves. He supports athletes with intellectual impairments as they prepare for the Special Olympics. Mr. Moore enjoys playing sports and meeting new people.
Carmen Morales | 7th Grade Math Teacher
Ms. Morales was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. She attended Boston College where she studied Sociology. She became interested in teaching after graduating from high school. She likes to read and try new foods on her free time. She is a Teach for America Corps Member.
Elizabeth Nugent I Assistant Principal
Ms. Nugent grew up outside of Boston in a small town called Medfield. She graduated from Stonehill College in 2009, where she studied Education and Psychology, and then went on to get her Master's Degree in Urban Education at Simmons College. Ms. Nugent always felt lucky to have amazing teachers, which is why she knew she wanted to be a teacher from a young age. She enjoys working with young adults and watching them become agents of change in their communities. Ms. Nugent enjoys spending time with her dog, family, and friends, cooking, and watching sports.
Rayney Odlum I Associate Teacher
Ms. Odlum in the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury, and the South End. She obtained her BA in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She gravitated towards the field of education because educators play a key role in priming the rising generation with the knowledge and skills necessary to become generative members of society and efficient leaders; it is a heavy responsibility which she is honored to be a part of. This school year, Ms. Odlum is looking forward to a journey that will expand her knowledge and skill set as an aspiring educator. In her downtime, can be found catching up with family and friends.

She is excited to be joining the Match team and to spread her passion of science! Ms. O'Neal was born and raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She received a B.S. in Human Development and Psychological Services from Northwestern University. After graduating she moved to Boston to begin her career in education as a Match Corps tutor and a member of the Match Teacher Residency. She taught 7th grade math at Roxbury Prep for several years and is excited to be back at Match.
FELICIA PASLEY | Director of student support
Ms. Pasley is originally from the Dorchester-lower Mills area of Boston. She lived in various places while serving as a satellite communications engineer in the United States Marine Corps. After her time in the Marine Corps, she returned to Boston and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Behavior at Simmons College. Before joining the Match community, Ms. Pasley coordinated the behavior department at a collaborative school in the South Shore. In her free time Ms. Pasley enjoys cooking, time on the beach and watching any of the New England sports teams play.

Ms. Rosinski grew up in Connecticut and attended The Hartt School at University of Hartford to study music (B.M.). She moved to Boston to attend New England Conservatory (M.M) and she also earned a MBA at Babson College. She has always been drawn to learning environments and is thrilled to pursue service as a teacher at Match. What excites me most about it is joining students on their paths of learning and discovery. Some of her favorite things to do are swim in Walden Pond, share meals with friends, and take outdoor adventures. She is also a Kripalu certified yoga teacher who practices and teaches yoga.
Lavile Russell I Associate Teacher
Mr. Russell was born in Decatur, Georgia, however, he was raised in Huntsville, Alabama. He attended Oakwood University where her received his Bachelor in Social Work. He is looking forward to empowering students and learning from the Match community. In his free time he enjoys documentaries, shopping, and sports. Prior to Match, he worked for BPS as a paraprofessional.
Emmanuel Santana | Dean of Students
Mr. Santana was born and raised in Boston. He attended Denison University in Ohio for 4 years. While in College, he worked as a camp counselor and activity director at the Crossraods site Camp Mitton. After graduating with a degree in Education, he started off his career at Match as a part of the Match Corps 12 and is now a Dean of Students.

Emma Simon | 6th Grade Ela Teacher
Ms. Simon first came to Match Middle School as a Match Corps Tutor and Teacher Resident. Ms. Simon grew up on the south shore of Long Island, NY or, as she puts it, 40 minutes from the city, 15 minutes from the beach. She earned her bachelor's degree in Creative Writing and Theatre Arts from SUNY New Paltz in 2009, and her Master's in English Education from The City College of New York in 2011. After that, she worked for several years in the New York City public schools before finally making the move up to Boston. Ms. Simon is thrilled to work with sixth graders and welcomes questions regarding student progress as well as any book/Netflix recommendations.

Catherine Stein | 8th Grade Science Teacher
Ms. Stein was born in Boston and raised in the suburbs outside of New York City. She received her bachelor's degree from Boston University and her master's degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Ms. Stein previously worked as an MCAS tutor for MATCH High School and a science coach for the MATCH Teacher Residency. In her spare time, Ms. Stein loves to cook, ski, and read mystery novels.
Justine Sullivan | 6th Grade Math Teacher
Ms. Sullivan is originally from Norwell, MA. She graduated from Roger Williams University with a degree in Elementary Education and earned her M. Ed in School Leadership from Arizona State University. Ms. Sullivan spent the past four years living in Phoenix, Arizona after accepting a position in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. She spent her year of service as a Physical Education teacher for grades K-8 at an urban school located in downtown Phoenix. After her year of service, Ms. Sullivan continued at this same school as a middle school math and science teacher. Ms. Sullivan is excited to be back in her home state where she is enthusiastic to start teaching at Match. In her free time, Ms. Sullivan enjoys hiking, camping, and playing sports of all kinds.
Michael Vogt | 7th Grade Math Teacher
Mr. Vogt is from Millis, Massachusetts and has been living in the Berkshires for the last 7 years. He studied Mathematics and Chemistry at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Growing up, he has always helped his friends with mathematics and he wants to continue to help others learn the beauty of the subject.. He looking forward to working at a brand new school and meeting the kids! Prior to Match, he taught at Berkshire Arts Technology Charter School as a 7th grade and high school math teacher. He also coached Boys Soccer and Co-Ed Ultimate Frisbee Team. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, mandolin and ukulele. He also loves Football Sundays and hanging out with his dog!
William Walthall IV | 7th Grade History Teacher
Mr. Walthall grew up in Westborough, MA and attended Trinity College where he majored in Political Science. He started teaching right out of college after realizing that making an impact in the lives of kids was better than anything a standard desk job could offer. He taught two years of fifth and sixth grade ELA at KIPP Memphis Preparatory Middle as a Teach for America Corps member in Memphis, TN. In 2016, he moved back to his home state where he taught at Brooke East Boston for a year. He’s excited to join the talented Match Middle School team, work with passionate students, and teach American History. In his free time, Mr. Walthall is an avid New England sports fan who loves reading, playing and listening to music, and eating delicious food.
